I like to travel, not only for the scenery, shopping and eating, but also the history, culture and the way people live. Punta Arenas, a pioneer town to the southern exploration, is at the end of our world. The sun never rises to the top because of its latitude. It was cold, wet and dark. I remember my first visit, 17 years ago. I could not speak a single Spanish word.  I was wondering on the streets. 100s young girls in school uniform were happily laughing, talking and joking. Local Indians were sailing handcrafts. In the shop, it did not matter I spoke Chinese or English.  But I used my hands and smile, I bought sweaters and crafts. I was trying to find out how people live here.  Years later, I learnt their best restaurants, dishes and wines.  

The modernization has started to erase its authenticity.  Oil exploration brought them businesses.  It comes the casino which tries to attract oil workers and tourists to spend their money.  Restaurants were remodeled and became bigger and fancier, but not the food quality.  I was still walking on the streets, and trying to 发ind out how people live, those common ones, those young boys and girls in uniform.

I can't agree more with your attitude of traveling...
Although I can't see your images, I can feel the Punta,the Chile you've ever been to..
Looking forward to more images and travel notes...

I think your idears must be changed since you've been living abroad.
For me,there's nothing but curious.It's not possible to feel what you are feeling about life there.
